A Huge Thank You From All Of Us

What a difference four weeks can make! Together, our shoppers and team members raised an incredible $49,237 for local food pantries through our spring 2025 register campaign.

This money isn’t going to some far-off charity – it’s staying right here in Miami-Dade, helping our neighbors who could use a hand. Every single dollar collected is going directly to food pantries and banks serving our local community.

Who’s Getting Your Help

Your spare change and generous donations are supporting these amazing local organizations:

JCS Kosher Food Bank – Making sure everyone has access to food that meets their needs

So What Exactly Are Food Banks & Pantries?

Food Banks: The Behind-the-Scenes Heroes

Think of food banks as the warehouses and logistics centers of hunger relief. They’re the folks who handle massive donations from grocery stores (like us!), farms, and manufacturers. They sort it, store it, and get it ready to distribute through smaller organizations.

Food Pantries: Where Help Meets People

Pantries are where people actually go to get food assistance. These neighborhood lifelines provide groceries directly to families and individuals who are having trouble making ends meet.

The Real Impact of Your Donations

Those few dollars you added to your grocery bill? Here’s what they’re actually doing:

• Putting food on empty tables for kids, parents, and grandparents right here in Miami
• Providing healthy options to people who might otherwise go without
• Offering a helping hand to neighbors during tough times – with dignity
• Building a stronger community where we look out for each other

The Reality of Hunger in Miami-Dade

Even in our sunny paradise, too many people worry about their next meal. Before COVID hit, about 1 in 9 of our neighbors struggled to put food on the table – worse than the national average. And with Miami’s skyrocketing housing costs these days, even more families are having to choose between rent and groceries.

These local organizations you’ve supported are working around the clock to make sure nobody in Miami goes to bed hungry – whether they live in Little Havana or Coral Gables, Kendall or North Miami.

Our Promise to Keep Helping

At Milam’s Markets, we’ve always believed that being a neighborhood grocery store means actually caring about the neighborhood. Your amazing response to this campaign just fires us up even more to keep supporting these efforts.

We couldn’t be prouder to serve a community that steps up like this when it counts.

Thanks a million from everyone at Milam’s Markets. Your generosity makes Miami-Dade a better place to call home.
